Douz

<p>Douz, known as the 'Gateway to the Sahara,' is located on the edge of the Grand Erg Oriental, a vast dune field. Once an important stopover for trans-Saharan caravans, it now serves as a departure point for desert tours by camel or four-wheel drive. The town also hosts the International Festival of the Sahara every December.</p>
